Summer Day Camp at the San Diego Archaeological Center
Want to know what it feels like to be a real archaeologist? Archaeological Site Investigation (ASI) Summer Camp at the San Diego Archaeological Center is the place for you!
Unlike any camp experience you have ever heard about, ASI is the creative and interdisciplinary approach to teaching the science of archaeology. Combining lessons in art with science, and history with cultural stewardship allows the camper a broader and deeper understanding of the field of archaeology. With adventures in nearby nature, creative expression, and hands-on access to the latest technology, camp activities include Artifact Interact, GPS-led discoveries, designing and creating clay vessels and many more creative and engaging lessons. Designed for children in grades 2 through 8, all lessons will follow the summer motto of FUN, FUN, and more FUN!
ASI Camp begins promptly at 9am and will end each day at 12:30pm. All campers must provide their own snacks. Water will be provided. Campers are required to bring a reusable water container, sunscreen, hat with wide coverage, eye protection and adequate hiking shoes each day of camp.
