Reuben H. Fleet Science Center Upcoming Events
Exploring Ethics Lecture: “Climate Change Challenges”
In conjunction with the Center for Ethics in Science and Technology, the Fleet welcomes guests to encounter science from an ethical perspective. The worldwide public debate about climate change and its causes has been with us for at least a decade. In recent months, that debate has significantly escalated with the December 2009 UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, but also with the allegations of research misconduct on the part of some climate change scientists. The scientific, social, economic, and political issues underlying this debate are vast, but we hope to examine one part of this debate by looking at the allegations of research misconduct, and what one should make of those allegations in the context of climate change research. Bring your own questions and join in the discussion!
