What: 50 minute lecture from Al Gore's team of trained professionals
(age adapted), based on the movie "An Inconvenient Truth"
When: February 4–8, 2008
Where: Your Middle or High School, at a time set by you
Funding: The Climate Project, with local collaborators
What you gain: Special access to the following local follow-up programs:
(community service hours are available)
- Tree planting through the National Arbor Foundation
- Light bulb exchanges through Sempra Energy
- A plan to create an environmental club at your school
- A plan to create a recycling program at your school
- An information packed presentation from the California Center for
Sustainable Energy about what practical things
YOU can do NOW to help fight climate change.
What you have to do:
1. Get approval from your principal/superintendent to have your school participate.
2. Contact Heather Gastil at heather.gastil@suhsd.k12.ca.us to let her know that you are interested and have gotten approval.
3. Set a date and time with Heather to have us come to your school.
4. Commit to doing relative pre and post activities with your students.
