Latinos represent more than one-third of California’s population, but represent less than 7% of the health care work force. The need for diverse and culturally competent employees in the health sciences is expected to increase even more in the future.

There are over 100 health careers available, from doctors and nurses to ultrasound technicians. LifeWorks lists health and science careers and has a career finder tool that identifies possible careers based on what you enjoy doing.

why
Health careers are among the fastest growing professions in the United States, with 7 of the 20 fastest growing occupations being health care related. Health careers also pay well, from $15 to $50 per hour for many health professions.
