SDSA Program/Resource Comment on this Program/Resource

Biological Sciences Student Association

Brief Description:
The Biological Sciences Student Association mentoring program matches UCSD undergraduate biological sciences majors with high school students in area schools who want help with science subjects. The undergraduate mentors provide one to one tutoring and may also provide guidance to students preparing science fair projects. They often serve as role models for high school students who may be the first generation in their family planning to attend college. A mentor is paired with one student, and they typically meet once a week on the school's campus either during lunch or at the end of the school day.
