Bose In Harmony with Education Program Grades 5-8

Brief Description:
An interdisciplinary program developed by Bose Corporation and MENC: The National Association for Music Education. This program makes essential connections between science, music and math. The in-class, standards-based curriculum includes many lessons on the science of sound. The field trip provides students with an inquiry-based and cooperative learning experience where they explore ideas, engage in hands-on activities, and perform in a mini concert. Students discuss, define and observe sounds using a tuning fork, an oscilloscope and an oscillator. The physical science of sound creation and propagation are also explored using terms such as vibration, high and low pressure areas, the eardrum, etc.
