Research Scientists

Brief Description:
1. Physical Oceanographers — Students become oceanographers and perform physical experiments. Student scientists learn about temperature, salinity, density, waves, and currents. Cost: $200.00 2. Phycologists — Students become phytoplankton experts. Each designs, creates and races their own plankton model. Cost: $150.00 3. Marine Mammologists — Students become marine mammal experts. They perform experiments to learn more about echolocation and feeding behaviors. Cost: $150.00 4. Independent Researchers — Students utilize their knowledge of the scientific method to design and conduct their own experiments. Cost: $200.00 5. Research Vessel — Students rotate through 3 different stations. Voyaging on a research vessel into the bay, using scientific equipment to gather information about the ocean environment, and identifying live plankton with different types of microscopes. Cost: $350.00 (2 hrs 45 min)
