Brief Description: 1. Physical Oceanographers Students become oceanographers and perform physical experiments. Student scientists learn about temperature, salinity, density, waves, and currents. Cost: $200.00 2. Phycologists Students become phytoplankton experts. Each designs, creates and races their own plankton model. Cost: $150.00 3. Marine Mammologists Students become marine mammal experts. They perform experiments to learn more about echolocation and feeding behaviors. Cost: $150.00 4. Independent Researchers Students utilize their knowledge of the scientific method to design and conduct their own experiments. Cost: $200.00 5. Research Vessel Students rotate through 3 different stations. Voyaging on a research vessel into the bay, using scientific equipment to gather information about the ocean environment, and identifying live plankton with different types of microscopes.
