Invert Investigators
Brief Description: 1. Life on the Rocks Students combine the arts and sciences to build a 3 dimensional tide pool that demonstrates intertidal zonation as well as the organisms that have adapted to this unique habitat. Cost: $200.00 2. Invert Detectives Using microscopes, students work in teams to uncover the secrets of a crab's development. Cost: $200.00 3. Invert Meet and Greet Students see and touch live animals to better understand the different adaptations and behaviors present in the tide pool ecosystem. Cost: $200.00 4. Inside Inverts Students investigate the "insides" of sea stars and mussels as students team up in pairs to understand invertebrate anatomy and morphology. Cost: $200.00 5. Tide Pool Field Trip Students visit and explore the tide pool, discovering animals in their natural habitat, in addition species diversity and abundance is determined through quadrat sampling.
