Organization Profile:
BIOCOM's mission is to position the Greater San Diego life science community to achieve success on the world stage of scientific and technological innovation, and in the development of products that improve global health and quality of life. BIOCOM sees science education as an important part of our mission. For students ages 16-21, we help coordinate summer internships with local life science companies. We have an annual essay contest for high school juniors and seniors, and a college scholarship for graduating seniors who demonstrate academic success and a genuine interest for working in San Diego's life sciences industry. Finally, we have created a speakers bureau to help teachers find knowledgeable and inspiring speakers for their classrooms.
