Organization Profile:
The Association for Women in Science, Inc. (AWIS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the achievement of equity and full participation of women in all areas of science and technology. We hold monthly meetings during the academic year featuring a presentation by a woman scientist in academia or biotechnology. The organization sponsors a semi-annual conference highlighting career opportunities is science. The education outreach program provides speakers for science classes on various topics, and also holds "hands-on" science workshops for teachers.
