San Diego Science Alliance Calendar Event

BioBlitz Balboa Park

Date(s): 05/02/2008 to 05/03/2008
Time: 6:00pm to 8:00am

Description:
The public will interact with working scientists, volunteers, and educators to explore Balboa Park’s biodiversity as a community. The heart of BioBlitz is a “rapid biodiversity assessment” that answers two questions: “How many species can be found in Balboa Park in 24 hours?” and “What are those species?”

The San Diego Natural History Museum is providing families the opportunity to join Museum scientists on an expedition! In the evening, go insect-collecting and owl-spotting on the Prado, and enjoy arts and craft activities. After a continental breakfast, head out for an early-morning hike to look for the birds that live in the Balboa Park area.

Member $35 per adult and $45 per child
Nonmembers $45 per adult and $55 per child per child
