Join us for SCBC’s continuing series focusing on innovations in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. “An Introduction to Epigenetics” highlights the study of the transmission of gene expression patterns during development and in response to environmental factors. Learn the terminology, methodology, and applications of epigenetics in this one-day workshop including seminar, discussion, and problem-solving activities especially designed for community college instructors and/or industry workers.

Course Learning Objectives/Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, learners will demonstrate the ability to:

* Summarize and diagram the key components in chromatin modification*
* Contrast types of epigenetic modification*
* Categorize applications of epigenetics in developmental biology and oncology*
