E3 - Energy Efficiency Education, 6th Grade Curriculum Training at NCREC

Description:
San Diego Unified School District and San Diego County Office of Education have partnered with San Diego Gas and Electric to enhance students’ knowledge of energy efficiency. In the sixth grade curriculum, students will:

* Participate in activities that focus on the transfer of heat energy and will apply their learning to make indoor environments more comfortable and conserve energy

* Demonstrate an understanding of how heat is transferred by radiation and factors that influence heat transfer

* Demonstrate how the design of a home can influence its energy efficiency

* Realize that they can have a positive impact on their community and the planet by making changes in their energy use

All training participants will receive an E3 kit, which includes:
* Curriculum
* Classroom materials (valued at $100)
* Class set of Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFLs)

Each Training session has space for 25 participants.
* Participants only need to attend ONE training date.
