Middle School Science Education Leadership Initiative (MSSELI) recruits!
Are you a middle school teacher implementing newly adopted instructional materials?
Interested in participating in a leadership network that provides you with effective tools for getting the most out of your curriculum?
Want to be challenged and inspired with the hot topics and research surrounding your knowledge and beliefs about how people learn and explore the way to look at student work to close the achievement gap?
Are you willing to open your classroom practice to other middle school teachers with the intent to focus on how students learn science?
Are you a life-long learner, willing to implement research based innovations to improve teaching and learning?
If these questions spark your interest, and you are supported by your colleagues and your district as a teacher leader in science, please consider applying to participate in MSSELI. This involves a three-year commitment to a year round professional learning community. San Diego’s MSSELI is accepting on-line applications for teachers (prefer teams of 2) from school districts around San Diego County.
Summer Leadership Academy will be held at the San Diego County Office of Education, August 4-8, 2008 from 8:30am-3:30pm. Six additional days during the academic year, and a one-day technology training are also involved. MSSELI participants will receive a $1500 stipend for the 2008-9 school year.
Application deadline is May 21, 2008. For more information and on-line registration go to: http://www.sdsa.org/msseli
Join the cohort of MSSELI Fellows who are continuing in the work of developing curriculum leadership skills.
