The GA Fusion Education team is at it again! We're offering two 2-day workshops at the DIII-D National Fusion Facility site in Sorrento Valley for teachers in middle and high school. This year you will build electromagnets and a magnetic mapping table. You will wind 12" diameter magnets (one of them capable of floating over aluminum plates!) suitable for illustrating concepts in magnetic field production via electrical current, field direction, use of a compass in a magnetic field, and much more.

Note: this is the same build-it set of materials we did in 2006, so feel free to pass or to gain another set for you or a colleague. The dates of the 2-day sessions are: June 30 - July 1 and July 2 - July 3, 2008. Signup cost is zero, lunch and a fun, productive workshop is on us. Hope you can join us!
