The Scripps Research Institute's Romesberg Laboratory is seeking Chemistry teachers from San Diego County to study the function and folding of Cytochrome C. This unique internship will pair a teacher with a Scripps Researcher for a paid 8 week internship to be arranged around the teacher's schedule. Year-round teachers are encouraged to apply.
The program emphasizes the scientific process, research planning, bench experience, experimental design, data analysis and interaction with laboratory personnel. Participants also attend specially designed programs and field trips. In addition to the intensive eight-week summer program teachers are expected to use the laboratory experience as a springboard to create opportunities in discovery based learning for their students, effect change in their classrooms and serve as a resource for other educators.
