2008/2009 FREE SAN DIEGO COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY WORKSHOPS
REGIONAL WATER TESTING WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS (Grades 6-12th)
The San Diego County Water Authority will be holding a Water Quality Testing Workshop on October 16, 2008 at the Museum of Man in Balboa Park.
Join over 1,200 teachers that have already taken this hands-on workshop, which aligns with State Standards for chemistry, biology, earth science and ecology.
Learn to run (9) different water tests using our equipment and then become eligible to check these kits out whenever you need them. This workshop also covers water history in the west and current water issues in California. You will also receive a 100-page teacher's manual, student workbook, a large watershed map and a water history book. The Water Authority will also pay for your substitute and provide you with a free lunch. Workshop times are from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

WATER-WISE GARDENING WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS (Grades K-6th)
The San Diego County Water Authority is offering monthly Water-Wise gardening workshops for teachers at the Water Conservation Garden at Cuyamaca College. If you have a gardening program or plan to develop one, this workshop is for you. You will receive a large binder with extensive gardening information, classroom curriculum materials and resource information. Learn all aspects of running a gardening program. Workshop dates are October 14th, November 18th, January 13th, February 17th, March 26th, April 30th and May 28th. The Water Authority will also pay for your substitute, so you can attend this workshop. Workshop times are 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
