Student Volunteers Sought for World Water Monitoring Month, Sept 18-Oct 18, 2008 The San Diego Citizen Watershed Monitoring Consortium, a part of a worldwide effort to improve water quality, invites you to participate in World Water Monitoring Month. This event presents an important opportunity for every student to become involved on a local, national and international scale. Volunteer monitors will get into the water to test for four basic indicators of water quality: dissolve oxygen, ph, turbidity/clarity and temperature. Data collected will be entered into a global data base that stores all information collected during the water monitoring period, between September 18th and October 18th. Teachers and students can join with local water monitoring groups and students abroad by registering at www.sdcwmc.org and receive free test kits. There is funding available for bus transportation so register now!
