Our 10th Anniversary!

High school students, teachers, family and friends are invited to the NOSB open house at Birch Aquarium on Sept. 22, 5 - 7 pm.

Birch Aquarium at Scripps is hosting an open house for the La Jolla Surf Bowl, the regional competition for the National Ocean Sciences Bowl

High school students, teachers, family and friends are welcome to stop by Birch Aquarium at Scripps on Monday, September 22, from 5 to 7 pm for our annual NOSB open house.

NOSB is a federally sponsored education program that enriches science teaching and learning through a high-profile national competition composed of winners from 25 regional competitions. The Bowl tests students' knowledge of ocean sciences in the disciplines of biology, chemistry, geology, and physics of the oceans, as well as technology, social sciences, geography, and marine policy.

At the La Jolla Surf Bowl open house, you will meet Scripps graduate students and learn about their research topics, meet the regional coordinators Judith Coats and Ariane Grubb, tour the aquarium, and talk with other high schools planning to compete.
